Happy New Year + A Candle for Ten

So a New Year is here for me.  I know for many of you midnight is still to come but as we're about to head out soon for the day I thought I'd post this now.

Happy New Year all.  I hope that 2011 is good to you all, full of life, love and hope and plenty of fantastic fic.

Now not wanting to drag anyone down but we all know that today is the anniversary of a very sad event for us Doctor Who fans.   I tried to come up with something suitable as a tribute to Ten but all words just cannot do justice to how much I miss and love this particular character. But then character is also really the wrong word to use because I think I've shed as many tears over him as I have for a loved family member or friend.  I often say that Nine is my favourite and in truth he is but Ten just lit up our screens, stole our hearts and broke them. Damn you David Tennant and at the same time thank you.   Anyway like I said I'm pathetic at words so like I have done for so many loved ones that have passed here is a candle for Ten.  I won't forget you.



If anyone else wants to light their own candle. Go for it and let us hear your thoughts about Ten

Can I leave a candle for Nine, Ten and Rose??? *sigh* It's hard to believe it's been a whole year since our final ep with Ten, and yesss....I miss him terribly! The non-stop chatter, the emo, the Really Great Hair...why couldn't a TARDIS appear in my backyard??? (I'd leave candles but 'course I don't know how to do that!!!) Ten was my first Doctor, (how could I resist???), then worked backwards to Nine (OMG...that's all I can say!) And Rose...how I love Rose.
No matter what comes in the future for DW, I'll always love my 'firsts' the best.

Of course you can. They are all missed so much. I just found a candle on the internet and copied that picture myself. I'm not very savvy either with computers and pictures.

I am enjoying the new Doctor and have watched some of the earlier ones as well but they just can't compare to Nine and Ten.

I agree that there feels like there should be a marking of the date as being a year on from when we saw Ten regenerate and said goodbye to the RTD era and all the charecters he created there, so I'd light a candle for all of them, with a special brown with blue pinstripes one for our Ten, x

It's been fantastic knowing you on here - to many happy memories to be made in 2011 in our fan fiction land :)

My candle is for all of the above, namely Nine, Ten and Rose. I love them each to bits and wish we could have had more time with them (even though forever was too short as well).

Yes I can understand that. I still cry at Parting of the Ways and nine still remains my favourite but I think Ten's regeneration is harder because he was there longer and as others have mentioned its not just him we lost but the end of RTD's era and in some ways the passing of all the majority of all his characters but especially Rose and her Doctor (be in nine/ten or ten2)
