One of my lj friends isa lovely person called susanb03 . In 2008 her husband Grant was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Lymphoma/Leukemia. Not having any medical insurance the bills soon started rolling in to the tune of $100,000 in healthcare. Recently Grant's cancer returned and though they now have health care the costs from the previous treatments are still over their heads.

Along with a few other lj members Susan has asked if I can promote a charitable mini - golf event to help them raise money that will go towards the medical bills. It is to take place just outside Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Saturday, May 7, 2011. If you live in that area or have no problems travelling to that area and would like to participate let me know and I can give you more details.

As well as the above event another lj member earlgreytea68 is offering a double drabble (two hundred words) to anyone who donates money to this very worthy cause. The person who donates the most will receive a 2000 word fic. You can find out more at her journal here Her offer ends 23rd February at midnight.
